Happy Halloween from Little Man & me!
I had jack o’ lantern cookies I’d planned on making, but I ran out of time. I’m disappointed because they were going to be super easy and cute and you all would have loved them. And I was going to make sure to take in-process pictures to describe the process. But, alas. It was not meant to be.
I’m hoping to still have time today to do a simple Halloween craft, and if I do, I’ll post it later today. But if you don’t hear from me, you’ll know it just didn’t happen. In the meantime, check out my craft from last year!
If you’re a parent of a small child, this story will probably sound a lot like your daily life. If you’re a parent of an older child, you might vaguely remember days like this. If you’re not a parent, this might help explain why your friends who are parents seem, well, crazy most of the time.
On Sunday, I made these, a homemade twix bar of sorts. They’re pretty good, but I overcooked the caramel a little, and I think the base could have been cooked longer. Anyhow, that’s not important. The important part was that, Sunday night before bed, I went to put them away in a tupperware container. I found the perfect sized one and lined up the bars nice and evenly. Then I went to get the lid. (more…)
Last time I checked in with you guys, it was Friday. And I had no dessert. But I also needed to make a card for my husband’s grandma’s 85th birthday.
So the husband went out and got us some Dairy Queen, and then I had the energy to make a card. There is a direct correlation between the intake of dessert and the output of crafts.
Anyhow. I started out like I always do– browsing Google images for inspiration.
Ok, guys, I’ma get real for a minute. (Please excuse the ridiculous slang.) I feel that it is of utmost importance to respect others’ creative ideas. While I peruse the internet for inspiration, I go out of my way not to copy others’ designs. Occasionally I have made crafts I’ve found on other websites, but I don’t generally blog about those things (and if I do, I link back to the original site.) So I want to ask you to do the same. I would be honored if any of you wanted to make some of my crafts for your own personal use, but please don’t claim others’ hard work as your own original idea, and under no circumstances sell those products without permission from the artist. Be cool, ok? I’ll do the same for you.
Ok, so now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you about this card I made. (more…)
Ok, so yesterday I shared with you one of my all-time favorite recipes, Barbecued Meatloaf. I love eating the meatloaf first thing out of the oven, but what I might love even more is making leftover meatloaf sandwiches for lunch the next day.
So I thought I’d share with you just how I make the best meatloaf sandwich ever. (more…)
