Well, it’s official. I have a first grader.
For some reason this is hitting me harder than when he went off to kindergarten. He’s just getting so big! He was so excited this morning he could barely contain himself. He’s so excited that he gets to sit at the same table as his friend Samantha from his kindergarten class. I have a feeling his teacher may decide to separate them sooner than later. 😉
I know I’m biased, but isn’t he just so handsome?
Because it’s well established that I’m an overachieving dork, I packed him a special lunch for today. A waffle sandwich with a chocolate hazelnut spread and peanut butter layered with strawberries & banana; carrot sticks and a pepperoni stick; and a cupcake. And while this looks like a special treat (and it is, because I’m not cutting letters from strawberries on a regular basis,) this is a healthy lunch in disguise. Very low in sugar and carbohydrates and high in protein and healthy fats. I hope he’s excited when he opens it!
Why is it so hard to let them go? I know he’s going to have a great time. I know he needs it. But I still get all teary eyed thinking about it!
Happy first day of First Grade! I love you, my favorite boy!
