It’s really warm right now. If you live in the central United States, you know what I’m talking about.

One of my Facebook friends posted this, an article that says that at one point yesterday, Moorhead, Minnesota was the warmest, most humid place on earth, with the heat index topping out at a whopping 134〫Here in the Twin Cities we only got to 119〫

Easter Cookies!

Tomorrow is Easter, so to celebrate, my sister and I decided to make some Easter-themed sugar cookies.

We’re still honing our skills– we’re definitely still amateurs, especially if you check out some of these cookies!

We did our best, though, and I thought we should share the results.  I think we’re getting better.

We made several different types of cookies, just to play around and see what we like.

First we have the chickies.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my very own recipe for chocolate chip cookies.  It is formulated for maximum chewiness, which is highly desirable in a cookie, in my book. You’ll notice some… well… unusual ingredients for a cookie, but I promise it works.

I have had many a chocolate chip cookie that is incredibly tasty the day it was baked, but through a lot of trial and error, fiddling and… whatever else a person might do to get things just right…  I finally developed a recipe for a cookie that maintains its soft, chewy texture for 3-4 days when stored in an airtight container.
